About
Daniel is a Master Mariner with over 33 years of maritime experience at sea and ashore. He has 20 years of seagoing experience on naval and passenger vessels prior to coming ashore in 2012. His experience ashore includes 10 years in port operations, vessel management, governance, compliance and regulation and three years in marine consultancy.
He is committed to maintaining high safety standards by designing and implementing policies and procedures specific to ports and maritime operations. Daniel has supported Coastal State governments, maritime authorities, port & harbour authorities, corporate management and internal/external stakeholders across policy development ensuring compliance with necessary treaties, conventions, international legislation, national laws, regulations, standards and policies, including the design and delivery of various management systems.
Daniel is an expert at assessing marine risk and identifying risk-control measures. He has developed, implemented and audited ISM and marine ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 management systems. He is a trained Operational Excellence Assessor, ISM/MLC/ISPS Auditor, Marine Accident Investigator, Category 2 Red Ensign Group Surveyor and Port State Control Inspector, ISO 9001 Auditor, Hong Kong Flag Surveyor, MLC Inspector and Port Marine Safety Code Auditor.
