Thibault Vinet joins ABL France as Senior Naval Architect

Naval Architect, Thibault Vinet, has joined the ABL France team, adding his considerable maritime experience to the local team and the region.

Thibault Vinet, Senior Naval Architect, ABL France comments:

‘’I’m incredibly happy to join ABL France. I’m looking forward to applying my skills, knowledge and experience to support the team and our local clients as well as expanding our local maritime offering. ‘’

Thibault joins ABL with a diverse background in nearly all aspects of the shipping industry. Throughout his professional career, he has supported French ports and harbours in their decarbonisation strategies. This involved studying the potential of alternative fuels and shore power from financial, legal, and technical perspectives, including port facilities and internal organisation.

Additionally, he has managed numerous newbuild and retrofit ship projects (including propulsion, jumboisation, and onboard arrangements), overseeing all phases from specification to shipyard delivery.

As a project manager, he has conducted research on behalf of shipowners and maritime groups to explore the integration of innovative technologies on different types of ships, from passenger ships to RORO ships, including container ships. These technologies include alternative fuels, wind propulsion, and onboard energy optimisation for both new vessels and conversion projects.

Vincent Frasse-Mathon, Head of Owner Engineering/Consultancy for ABL France comments:

‘’Thibault has developed deep expertise in evaluating and implementing sustainable and innovative solutions for the maritime sector, actively contributing to the industry’s transition.

His diverse skills and commitment to innovation make him a key asset for our clients in their drive to transform their maritime practices towards greater sustainability.’’

Thibault holds a bachelor’s degree in naval and offshore architecture from ENSTA Bretagne. He also holds a master’s degree in administration, management and economics from the Université de Bretagne Occidentale and a postgraduate degree from the IFP School on Petroleum Engineering and Project Development. He is now an Academic part-time lecturer for IFP school on the FLNG course.
