LOC Appoints New Energy Operations Director for London

LOC has appointed an experienced industry professional to enhance its growing energy business.  Shai Tzucker joins LOC’s London business as Energy Operations Director with more than 20 years of marine and offshore experience.

A chartered naval architect and mechanical engineer, Shai assumes overall day to day operational responsibility for LOC’s work in the oil & gas and renewable sectors.  He has extensive marine warranty surveyor (MWS) and advisory services experience with expertise in managing large oil & gas construction projects with worldwide operations, and offshore wind farms.

In the past Shai has led and advised on projects for transportation and installation of offshore structures, topsides, modules and jack up rigs, as both marine consultant and warranty surveyor.  He held overall project responsibilities for jackets, gravity-base structures and FPSO towage and installation, as well as subsea and pipeline projects including SURF and sub-sea structures in ultra-deep and shallow water, and offshore wind farms and cable arrays.  He has provided stability analyses, FE analyses and vessel surveys and has led on naval architecture consultancy projects, concept design and analysis of offshore vessels, risers and mooring systems.

Andrew Squire, LOC Group Chief Executive commented; “We are delighted to welcome Shai to LOC, his expertise and experience increases the support and value we can offer to our clients and stakeholders in new ways.  Our business is growing and his appointment means that we can continue to deliver to the high standards our customers expect, while expanding our specialist maritime services to the shipping and offshore industries.”

Shai added: “I have joined LOC during an exciting period of change and growth, at a time when we are seeing a transformation in the thinking and delivery of projects across the entire energy sector. We will be looking to work closely with our partners and clients to identify opportunities to maximise the value we offer to them in new ways, as well as enhance existing collaborative working relationships.”

Shai Tzucker joins LOC from DNV GL (Noble Denton) where he has worked for the last ten years, and held the position of marine warranty manager for the past five years.  Earlier in his career he served as chief engineer on navy vessels. He holds a BSc degree in mechanical engineering and MSc in naval architecture from University College London.
