Introduction to the topic
The presentation defines self-elevating units, describes different applications and types of self-elevating units, discusses different modes of operation of self-elevating units and associated risks for underwriters.
Emil will provide a comprehensive overview of self-elevating units, commencing with a review of their historical development, a formal definition and applications within the offshore industry. It subsequently examines the various types of jack-up units, with particular emphasis on their principal components. The presentation further explores the different modes of operation of self-elevating units, accompanied by an analysis of the associated risks.
The technical presentation will be followed by a Q&A and finalised with a summary of last month’s high-cost marine casualties.
