About

William is a Naval Architect and Shadow Board Member at ABL, experienced in offshore engineering, marine operations, and vessel design and modification. He’s worked within the ABL Group since 2019, providing Consulting and Engineering services to marine and offshore renewables projects. He has a First-Class Master’s Degree in Naval Architecture from the University of Southampton and is an associate member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects.

William provides project development, offshore engineering, technical advice and MWS services to renewables projects globally. Recent activities include developing the T&I strategy for a series of Floating OWFs (pre-lease to FEED), attending as offshore Client Rep for a complex O&M campaign in the German North Sea, Owner’s Engineering for an XL MP foundation installation campaign, and MWS services for an OSP Helideck Exchange. Scopes typically include development and evaluation of T&I strategy, task plan, vessels, installation concepts, equipment, and processes. He works closely with leading developers to drive realisation, reduce risk and improve operability. With ABL, he’s also managed a series of heavy lift incident investigations, conducted damage inspections, and provided expert advice on probable causation.

William has demonstrated the capability to lead the development and delivery of a Project Design Envelope for a large-scale fixed-bottom OWF in the UK. This task involved bridging the gap between the Technical and Development workstreams and responsibility for the timely delivery of technical inputs into the EIA.
