About

A Chartered Marine Engineer, Mike is a qualified Chief Engineer who has been working in the renewable sector for over thirteen years. His experience includes marine warranty survey (MWS) and marine and engineering consulting for high voltage export and array cables, HVDC Interconnector cable installation, and repair for renewable energy projects.

He has worked on numerous and complex export and inter-array cable installation campaigns, and multiple cable repair or jointing campaigns. He has experience with all aspects of offshore substation, wind turbine and foundation installations.

Mike has prepared reports and provided opinion for mediation and arbitration in addition to acting as an expert witness in the UK. Mike has also acted on behalf of P&I Clubs, owners and insurance interests in matters concerning marine engineering and offshore activities including subsea cable damage, machinery trials, damage, condition, suitability and on/off hire surveys, and advice for the marine and cable lay and protection aspects for OFTO bids.

Prior to joining LOC (now ABL Group) he saw over 30 years’ service in the Royal Navy as an engineer and ships diver, serving in all ranks from junior electrical mechanic to Lieutenant Commander.
