About
Hugues joined LOC (now ABL Group) in 2008, originally in the London office as a Project Engineer and then Project Manager, involved in both oil & gas and renewables energy projects. He transferred to Paris, becoming its Managing Director, in 2015.
He has reviewed calculations and documentation for a variety of marine operations; load-out, towage and sea transportations, station-keeping operations, mooring and anchoring activities, heavy lifts, topsides integration, offshore installations, vessel surveys and salvage of damaged assets. He has attended meetings and onshore & offshore sites to authorise and supervise float over, lifting and pipeline/cable laying operations in the construction and installation phases.
He has conducted desk reviews of marine procedures, naval architectural and structural analyses in support of MWS approvals and casualty expertise.
He also provides consultancy and advice, as lead structural engineer, for legal disputes, shipping and energy insurance claims.
Hugues was previously a structural engineer/naval architect in the plan approval department of a leading Classification Society.
