About
Alexander holds a Master of Science Degree (MSc) in Marine Engineering from the Technical University of Varna and is a 1st Class Marine Engineer’s certificate of competency. He also holds a Master of Science Degree (MSc) in Materials Science and Technology Engineering from the Technical University Varna and a Diploma for Marine Accident investigation from Lloyds Maritime Academy & North Kent College. More than 9 years of sea-going experience, serving on a cape-size bulk carrier, reefer vessels and yachts, ended his career as a Chief Engineer and held the position of Technical Superintendent for over 3 years.
Alexander joined ABL-Group (formerly BMT Marine and Offshore Surveys, Braemar Marine and AqualisBraemar) in Varna in 2006 and serves as a Marine Surveyor across the Europe and Caspian Sea region for more than 18 years. He specializes in technical investigations, consultancy, JH 143 Risk assessment audits, Marine Warranty surveys, vessel’s construction supervision and ship repairs.
MWS during platform jackets and topside construction/commissioning, load out and installation, various project cargo handling operations on board vessels and barges; towage approvals of various ships & barges; reactivation of drill ships and pipe lay vessels; umbilical laying, trenching, and subsea operations, suitability surveys. Witnessing DP tests and approval of DP/not-DP vessel/spreads from a marine warranty point of view for offshore operations.
Alexander is part of the ABL Yachts team of surveyors with specific expertise in yacht and superyacht surveys.
