ABL September Maritime Market Briefing

Join the ABL Maritime Market Briefing for September discussing the following topic:

Engineering Net-Zero Ships

A wide variety of solutions are being developed in order to meet net-zero shipping emission targets. However, new technologies present new ship design challenges and risks. Longitude – the engineering consultancy branch of ABL Group – tackles these challenges and presents some insights into integrating alternative fuels on ship designs.

This presentation, hosted by two of Longitude’s naval architects, will explore the topic of maritime decarbonisation, looking at current trends in clean shipping, case studies, as well as discussing design challenges, risks and solutions as a result of zero-emission technologies in shipping. The presentation will also conclude with a future outlook of opportunities in the zero-emission shipping sector.

When: Thursday 14th September, 9:30 AM UK time

Where:

  • In-person: Lloyd’s Old Library, 1 Lime Street, EC3M 7HA, London, arrivals for coffee, tea and biscuits from 09:00
  • Virtual: Via Zoom

As per our usual format, the September ABL Maritime Market Briefing will also include a run-through of this month’s ‘WreX Files’ – a selection of high-vale marine casualty case studies from August 2023.

Meet our Presenters

This month’s technical spotlight will be presented by naval architects from Longitude Engineering – the engineering consultancy branch and vessel design bureau of ABL Group:

  • Amy Barker – Naval Architect
  • Silvia Strat – Naval Architect
