ABL Group Introduces Clean Shipping Portfolio at Posidonia, Stand 3.461

ABL Group will be introducing their portfolio and capabilities in supporting clean shipping and maritime decarbonisation initiatives, at Posidonia, on stand 3.461.

ABL Group maritime consultants, including specialists in vessel design and alternative fuels from group company Longitude Engineering, will be exhibiting the full range of its consulting and engineering services to drive energy transition across maritime sectors, alongside its expertise in loss prevention and loss management.

Mark McGurran Group MD Marine

“Maritime is facing times of significant change as our waters become increasingly congested, ships become bigger, inroads in digitisation, and of course as maritime plays a role in our global climate fight. We are really pleased to have the opportunity at Posidonia, to represent ABL Group’s far-reaching expertise in helping clients to navigate these tides of change – such as with emissions consulting, hydrogen and fuel-cell technology, vessel design, automated shipping solutions and other services.”

Mark McGurran, Global MD Maritime, ABL Group

Among the services to be introduced on the ABL Group stand will be:

  • emiTr – a digital solution for ports and harbours to track their carbon emissions, calculate cost of emissions, and facilitate data to put down an action plan for carbon emissions reduction
  • HYSEAS III – ABL Group’s work in designing Europe’s first emission-free hydrogen fuel-cell sea-going passenger and car ferry
  • Alternative fuel solutions and the design of a hydrogen bunkering concept
  • Vessel design expertise

ABL Group will also be represented on stand, by its growing Greek operations, headed by George Panagakis. The Greek office, based in Piraeus, has recently expanded to include a branch of group company OWC – the offshore wind consultants. They will be on-stand to present how maritime services and expertise in areas such as ports and harbours, maritime civil engineering, and marine navigational analysis, can support Greece in the early planning stages for the development of up to 2GW of offshore wind.

“Greece has long played a central role in global shipping. Its maritime legacy, including its large number of ports and harbours, theoretically puts the country in a position to become a significant key player in European offshore wind, but there is still a lot to be done with numerous challenges and opportunities ahead. Expanding our in-country presence to include offshore wind expertise coupled with the Group’s enhanced portfolio to the maritime sector, offering services in sustainability and alternative fuels, is reflective of our commitment to contribute in the overall energy transition of Greece.”

George C. Panagakis, Country Manager ABL Group Greece

ABL Group combines over 150 years of maritime legacy dating back to its roots in The Salvage Association, with cutting-edge consulting and engineering across marine sector – renewables, maritime and oil & gas – to provide a range of services to de-risk and drive the energy transition across marine markets.
