OWC appoints new Managing Director

OWC has appointed Katherine Phillips as its new managing director.

Phillips has been promoted to the top OWC role from her current position as Operations Director. She joined OWC in 2018 and has excelled in various roles since, including leading the UK operation.

In her new role, Phillips will oversee OWC’s growing international operations, including offices in London, Edinburgh, Hamburg, Warsaw, Taipei, Tokyo, Busan, Seoul, Boston and New York.

She succeeds Will Cleverly, who has moved into a newly established role as global managing director for renewables across the ABL Group, which includes P&L responsibility for renewables players OWC, Innosea, and East Point Geo, as well as global coordination of the renewables offering across the group. With a background in structural engineering, Katherine brings experience of senior leadership roles on floating and fixed offshore wind projects as well her OWC roles over the last number of years.

“Katherine is a hugely important part of the OWC family and brings a wealth of expertise in offshore wind from both her time at OWC and prior experience in senior engineering positions. We are delighted to appoint her as managing director at a time of exciting and rapid growth for OWC, as we look to expand our global footprint to new offshore wind markets, as well as grow our service offering to best support the race to net-zero,”

Will Cleverly, global managing director for renewables at ABL Group

Established in 2011, OWC has seen significant growth over recent years with the team growing by 65% since the start of 2020 alone. It has also expanded its geographical footprint with four new offices in 2020: South Korea, Japan, Poland and New York.

OWC is a leading independent engineering consultancy supporting the development and realisation of offshore wind projects, with a range of services including project development services, owner’s engineering and technical due diligence.
