LOC Group awarded new contracts with SBM Offshore

LOC Group, the premier international marine and engineering consulting firm, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded new contracts with SBM Offshore to act as Marine Warranty Surveyor (“MWS”) on two of their Floating Production Storage and Offloading (“FPSO”) Projects.

The FPSOs will be deployed offshore Brazil and Guyana. LOC will provide MWS services for the transportation and installation operations relating to the FPSO on one of the projects, and the FPSO topsides on the other.

The design of both FPSOs is based on SBM Offshore’s industry leading Fast4Ward® program. This incorporates the Company’s new build, multi-purpose hull combined with several standardised topsides modules.

These complex global projects follow two earlier FPSO projects, in which LOC also acted as MWS appointed by SBM Offshore. The LOC teams in London, Singapore and China have been working closely with SBM Offshore’s project teams, delivering a truly global fit-for-purpose solution to assist in achieving a timely and safe project delivery.

Shai Tzucker, Energy Operations Director at LOC:

“LOC are delighted with these two contract wins with SBM Offshore related to two major FPSOs. These very significant projects further establish LOC as the leading industry provider of marine assurance and advisory services for major natural gas offshore development projects; FPSO integration, towage and installation.”

Dr. Aureliano Schirripa, Project Manager at LOC:

“At LOC we have the right people, technical skills and strength to deliver our service for these complex projects. And we are extremely proud to be part of SBM Offshore continued projects efforts and we value our ongoing relationship with SBM Offshore enormously. These recent wins build on our past contracts with SBM Offshore on FPSO projects, and reflect LOC’s expanding reputation as a world class provider of MWS services and other marine engineering across the Americas and China for FPSOs amongst other structures worldwide.”
