Benoat Danglade, Floating Solar Technical Expert | Innosea
What do you do at Innosea?
Since my arrival in 2019 I have been working as a project engineer, project manager and floating solar expert.
My role involves providing support to IPPs and EPCs on specific technical challenges linked to fast growing floating solar market.
I am also the ABL Group technical referent for floating solar PV. This includes developing, checking and continuously improving INNOSEA’s engineering tools and methodologies for mooring and anchoring systems. I am passionate in sharing knowledge internally across Innosea and the wider ABL Group, but also to the Client through projects and dedicated training. I am also involved in the supervision of floating solar projects on site, having been involved in the review, inspection, audits, site visits and interface management workshops related to anchor testing, mooring and anchoring (both permanent and temporary), and towing/hook-up operations notably.
What inspired you to go into the field you are in?
Floating solar is part of the future necessary mix of energy. I am really motivated to help the industry to raise technical and operational skills in order to reduce risks and build new methodologies to develop floating solar farms.
I am proud to work with people that are enthusiasts for this meaningful and impactful sector, but also with people, who are deeply aware and conscious about the necessity and limitations of the Renewable Energy industry. Environment, energy, ecology are part of a holistic topic that must be seen and considered together.
What do you enjoy about working at Innosea?
In addition to being a driver of the energy transition, I really enjoy the way the Innosea management shares responsibilities, encourages initiatives and bolsters R&D topics. Overall, people at Innosea are very highly skilled and put human values at the core of our daily business.
What do you enjoy in your spare time?
I am passionate about ocean and nature. I spend my free time surfing, playing rugby and hiking in the French mountains.
