‘’We are happy to welcome Irving on board. His multi-faced technical expertise along with his knowledge of the local market are going to become valuable tools for both our clients and colleagues alike.’’

Jose Alberto Rosas Rodriguez, Country Lead, ABL Panama

Abadia joins ABL with an extensive background in naval architecture and marine engineering. His career highlights include conducting various types of surveys, including P&I and H&M damage investigations for major incidents across North and Central America, as well as pre risk condition and entry surveys. His expertise is complemented by his tenure at a leading classification society, where he performed class and statutory surveys predominantly in Panamanian waters.

Further enriching his profile, Abadia has significant hands-on experience from one of the largest ship repair companies in the region. He has excelled in various roles from cost estimation to quality assurance and on-site project management for complex projects including afloat structural repairs and major overhauls of engine rooms and auxiliary systems.

His technical skills are underpinned by his work in engineering and desktop calculations, which include designing mooring arrangements and conducting structural analysis for the new Panama Canal locks, adhering to classification societies and Panama Canal requirements.

“I’m delighted to be part of the ABL family,” says Abadia. ” I’m looking forward and excited to share my experience and keep growing professionally along with my colleagues, doing a great job, providing trust and confidence to our clients.”
