Mohamed Ahmed, Operations Manager, Cairo

What do you do at ABL?

I take care of day-to-day operations, including the planning, directing and coordinating of projects, and ensuring the continual improvement of performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of the operations/projects. I do this through the provision of effective methods and strategies. This comes in addition to managing the MWS projects delivered from within the Cairo office. I also take care of all the Quality & HSE, and system & site Ops enquiries for the office.

What inspired you to go into the field you are in?

This field always gives an excitement when diversified activities & multiple skills are mandated to adapt with the continuous market changes specially when it comes to the energy transition.

What do you enjoy about working at ABL?

…The continuous challenges, which spark my instinct of innovation and utilize many of my on-the-shelf skills. The behind-the-scenes collaborative spirit also gives me great inspiration & motivation.

What is the most exciting aspect of the energy transition for you?

I find the green energy overlapping and prevailing over the fossil fuel the most exciting, especially Green Hydrogen, and how this could help the field we are working in (Marine/Offshore), eliminating the carbon emissions and work efficiency. This is something that i hope to zone into at the upcoming COP 27 event: 6-18 November.

What do you enjoy in your spare time?

I enjoy driving and exploring new places! I have a keen interest in mountain-biking and spend most of my time on wheels. I also enjoy spending time with my family and watching great movies.
