ABL Group part of North Sea green hydrogen initiative
Global consultancy ABL Group has joined the pioneering green energy initiativeAquaVentus Förderverein e.V. (AquaVentus) – a project aiming to turbocharge innovation for the development of 10 GW of green hydrogen capacity from North Sea offshore wind by 2035.
In its quest for climate-friendly hydrogen production, the AquaVentus initiative aims to use electricity from offshore wind farms to operate electrolysers also installed at sea on an industrial scale. Plans envisage setting up electrolysis units in the North Sea with a total capacity of 10 gigawatts, enough to produce 1 million metric tons of green hydrogen.
ABL Group with local offices in North Sea countries including Germany, Netherlands, UK, Denmark, Norway and France, have joined the AquaVentus consortium, to support with a range of engineering and marine consultancy services. More specifically, it will draw upon its diverse combination of offshore engineering and hydrogen expertise to help support the consortium’s initiatives within pipeline engineering management and discipline engineering services.
