ABL strengthens P&I and Major Casualty Services with appointment of William Leschaeve in New York
ABL has appointed William Leschaeve as Director of P&I and Major Casualty Services, based in New York. William joins ABL’s expanding maritime team, bringing extensive international experience in casualty response, salvage, wreck removal, cargo damage investigations and expert witness services to support clients across the global maritime sector.
William has joined ABL following a distinguished career advising P&I clubs, shipowners and legal teams worldwide further strengthening ABL’s ability to support maritime clients facing complex incidents, providing rapid technical advice, risk analysis and dispute resolution support across global shipping markets.

William’s casualty experience includes leading and advising on salvage and wreck removal operations around the world, acting as company representative and technical advisor during live incidents, and conducting bid evaluations with a focus on technical feasibility and risk management.
As an expert witness, William specialises in investigations involving total losses and cargo losses and has provided evidence in US courts, UK High Court proceedings and international arbitration cases.
