About the Effective Risk Assessment course

This course provides learners with the knowledge to understand and implement Effective Risk Assessments within the workplace. Risk Assessment is a practical and systematic methodology employed globally, especially within the energy/processing industry. Learn from experienced technical safety practitioners about how risk assessment can transform your organisation.

This one-day course is conducted with practical examples and exercises to illustrate the key concepts. Participants will be guided through a mock Risk Assessment workshop where they will be able to put into practice knowledge attained from the course.

The content is learner-centred with high interconnectedness between learners and instructors. The course would include tasks and world examples relevant for practice, delivered in an interactive and engaging approach. The course design is structured and guided with clear expectations and knowledge validation aligned with the outcome.

Anyone who has responsibility for carrying out a risk assessment of their workplace, and is adapted to suit all levels of experience and organisational roles. The person who carries out the risk assessment is named the ‘competent person’ i.e. business owner, a manager, a supervisor or anyone else within the business who has sufficient training, skills, experience and knowledge to be able to carry out the risk assessment process safely and effectively.
