About
Tash Hallett is an experienced maritime security and national resilience specialist with over twenty years working across strategic and operational roles in New Zealand’s public sector. Currently serving as the Senior Maritime Security Consultant at ABL Group, Tash supports ports and maritime stakeholders across New Zealand and the Pacific with practical, tailored solutions for ISPS Code compliance, port facility assessments, training and exercises. Her expertise is grounded in an understanding of regulatory frameworks, international collaboration, and cross-agency engagement.
Tash previously held leadership roles within Maritime NZ and was instrumental in shaping national maritime security policy and response capability. She has been recognised by the U.S. Coast Guard and the Australasian Women in Emergencies Network for her contributions to regional maritime security and women’s leadership. Her work has extended into the Pacific, where she has led capacity-building projects in port infrastructure, security design and disaster resilience.
Beyond her consultancy, Tash is an active member of WISTA (Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association), advocating for cultural inclusivity and empowering women in the maritime sector. She is known for her strategic insight, strong stakeholder relationships, and unwavering commitment to practical outcomes that strengthen security, safety and sustainability in the maritime domain.
