July 2025 ABL Market Briefing
Join us for the ABL July Maritime Market Briefing, discussing the following topic:
Navigational Risk Exposure in Offshore Wind Operations: Collision Hazards and DP Challenges
As offshore wind operations grow in scale and complexity, so do the navigational risks faced by vessels working in and around wind farms. From third-party vessel intrusions to the challenges of maintaining position near fixed structures, understanding these risks is essential for safe and effective offshore operations.
This session will explore the key risk factors affecting offshore wind activities – including dynamic positioning (DP) challenges, common collision scenarios, and lessons from real incidents. We’ll also discuss mitigation strategies and recommendations to improve navigational safety across offshore wind projects.
The technical presentation will be followed by a Q&A and a summary of last month’s high-value maritime case reports, which will only be presented to attendees in the room.
When: Thursday 17th July, 9:30 AM UK time
Where:
- In-person: Lloyd’s Old Library, 1 Lime Street, EC3M 7HA, London. Arrivals from 9:00 AM for coffee, tea, biscuits and networking.
- Virtual: Zoom Webinar
The marine casualty case reports will only be presented to in-person attendees.
Learning Objectives
- You will gain an overview of the offshore wind operational landscape and associated vessel traffic patterns
- You will understand key collision hazards and DP-related risk scenarios encountered during offshore wind activities
