Session 5: Monitoring – How ports can monitor their environmental impacts | 19th October |11:05am
Presenting on emiTr – Emissions tracking software for ports and harbours
Paul will be discussing the digital solution that has been designed by ABL in collaboration with Shoreham Port – emiTr, that allows the seaport industry to easily track their emission profiles, calculate the cost of their carbon footprint, and to identify a roadmap ahead for sustainable development. He will highlight exactly how emissions are tracked and calculated, and how to make effective use of the data produced. He will showcase successful case studies that highlight the use of the tool and explore strategies for reducing emissions.
“The first step to cutting emissions is understanding them – what they are and where they come from. emiTr provides a digital inventory of the complex web of a port’s emissions, mapping out both direct and indirect sources, as well as identifying the profile of individual emitters. Once a baseline of data is established, visual representations can assist to identify high emitters and inform CAPEX expenditure accordingly”
Paul Martin, Managing Director of Maritime
