Despite advancements in technology and safety measures adopted by companies and their vessels, the complex nature of mooring activities continues to present challenges in ensuring the safety of these operations.
This presentation addresses the key factors that contribute to unsafe mooring practices and highlight the steps needed to improve safety during these critical operations. Topics will include equipment maintenance, proper inspection and stowage of mooring ropes, correct usage of personal protective equipment (PPE), and other best practices. We will also discuss the latest regulatory changes surrounding ‘Safe Mooring’ and why these new measures are crucial for improving safety standards across the maritime industry.
