Electrification Consulting for Offshore and Subsea Projects

Home » Electrification

Widespread electrification is central to meeting growing global energy demand while achieving decarbonisation targets set out in the Paris Agreement. Across the energy, maritime and offshore sectors, the transition from fossil-fuel-based systems to electrical power is now a strategic necessity rather than a future ambition.

ABL provides electrification consulting services that support this transition, helping clients design, upgrade and integrate electrical systems that are efficient, resilient and fit for long-term operation.

Electrification and renewables reshaping energy systems

The rapid deployment of renewable energy sources – including offshore wind, solar and hydroelectric power – is fundamentally changing how energy is generated, distributed and consumed. Electrification and renewables are increasingly interdependent, with electrical infrastructure forming the backbone of a low-carbon energy system.

However, electrification requires more than generation capacity. Electrical grids must evolve to manage higher loads, decentralised generation and variable supply, while maintaining system stability. At the same time, ports, vessels and offshore structures require significant upgrades to accommodate new operational demands.

ABL applies a holistic electrification approach, integrating renewable energy, grid infrastructure and end-use systems to deliver scalable, practical solutions across complex environments.

Overcoming marine, offshore, and subsea electrification challenges

Electrification introduces technical, operational and regulatory challenges across the value chain. ABL supports clients through early-stage advisory, detailed engineering and project execution support across marine, offshore and subsea electrification environments.
