Mission to Seafarers ‘Flying Angel’ Campaign
LOC Shipping‘s recent WEBINAR on “Casualty Management in COVID-19“, hosted on 29th October, was joined by The Mission to Seafarers‘ Secretary General, the Revd. Canon Andrew Wright, to present in brief the Mission’s important COVID-19 appeal – the ‘Flying Angel’ Campaign.
The Mission’s campaign, in recognition of the enormous personal sacrifice and the unprecedented circumstances seafarers and their families continue to face globally as a result of the pandemic, carefully reviews the needs of seafarers to identify key initiative areas for development, which will provide support to the seafaring community in these times.
To that end, the ‘Flying Angel’ Campaign seeks to raise money for the following key initiatives:
Technological Solutions
- Digital Chaplaincy
- Listening to seafarers – Seafarers’ Happiness Index App
- Mifi units for onboard communications
Resilience in Ports
- PPE global provision
- Minibus adaptations
- Seafarer-safe Centres Fund
- Advocacy, representing seafarers
General Fund
- To allocate funds where most needed
