With the turn to renewable energy, specifically offshore wind, sweeping the industry over the past decade, the ambitious plans for further expansion in the quest for carbon neutrality, and the increasing shipping traffic, maritime space has never been so much of the essence.

States are called to make the most of the marine territory within their Exclusive Economic Zones, expand and upgrade their coastal infrastructure, and at the same time maintain the safety of navigation as all this happens, and allow sufficient corridors to accommodate the future growth of shipping. 

The question inevitably becomes, how do we ensure that the risks introduced into the system with each intervention remain to an acceptable level and how do we evaluate the effectiveness of changes to navigation we need to introduce or accommodate navigation. The answer is understanding the current conditions, quantifying the current risk, and studying the impact of any intervention on this benchmark risk profile. 

Our aim is to provide solutions that support the safety of navigation, as well as the fixed offshore developments’ assets – solutions that result in an acceptable level of risk for either.
