INNOSEA hosts second seminar for PORTOS Project
INNOSEA, an LOC Group Company, is pleased to announce that it recently hosted the second annual seminar for the PORTOS Project – Ports Towards Energy Self-Sufficiency.
INNOSEA, an independent engineering, design and advisory specialist in offshore renewable energy projects, was appointed as a partner to the PORTOS Project in 2019. The project is a multinational collaborative project funded by INTERREG Atlantic Area, a European funding programme that promotes transnational cooperation among 36 Atlantic Regions of 5 European Countries.
The project also includes the following partners: the University of Plymouth, UPORTO, the University of Santiago de Compostela, the University of Oviedo, INEGI, IHCantabria, ADPL, APVIGO, the University College Cork and Shannon Foynes Port Company.
PORTOS aims to assess, develop and promote the integrated use of renewable energy resources in Atlantic Area ports and increase their energy efficiency, establishing a roadmap to a more competitive and sustainable sector.
Hakim Mouslim, CEO of INNOSEA, commented:
“INNOSEA’s appointment as a partner on this important project is a great achievement for the business, as it confirms our status as a recognised technical authority in the strategy, advisory and development of renewable energy sources in Europe.
The promotion of more sustainable, carbon-neutral infrastructure and practices across ports is a hugely important part of the process for European countries to achieve their future net zero ambitions. So, through this project, INNOSEA will be able to leverage its multi-disciplinary marine & engineering expertise from the wider LOC Group and make a key contribution at the early stages of port development. We are excited to be involved in the project and we look forward to making further updates as appropriate.”
