ABL Recognised for Sustainability Excellence at IADC SEAC Safety Awards
We are proud to announce that ABL was recently awarded 3rd place in the “Best Sustainability Initiative” category at the 2024 IADC Southeast Asia Chapter (SEAC) Safety Awards Gala, held in Bangkok on 14 May 2025. The award was presented during the IADC SEAC’s 40th Anniversary Banquet, a prestigious event celebrating leadership in safety and sustainability across the drilling industry.
Accepting the award on behalf of ABL was Mr. Mingkwan Surasorn, Country Manager for Thailand & Vietnam.
This recognition reflects ABL’s deep-rooted commitment to embedding sustainability across all aspects of our operations—supporting our clients’ ESG goals while fostering innovation, integrity, and continuous improvement.
Two Key Initiatives Driving Impact
The reward specifically acknowledges two standout global initiatives at ABL, and how they support the sustainability of our energy and oceans:
ABL Group Engineer Development Programme (EDP): Our global, gradual scheme is designed to cultivate the next generation of engineering and technical talent through cross-sector exposure, international experience, and management training. It supports the social sustainability and resilience of energy and oceans by investing in people and skills that will support the marine and offshore energy industries in the future.
ABL Group HELP Card Procedure: An internal automated system to simplify and improve transparency over internal HAZARD identification and reporting. The Group-wide initiative promotes a work culture rooted in safety and accountability, creating a healthier and happier workplace. It also mitigates operational risk and reduces the potential for unforeseen costs, delays or incidents that might impact the environment.
“We are honoured to receive this recognition, which reflects our commitment to building a more sustainable future for the energy and oceans industries. Through our Engineer Development Programme, we’re investing in the next generation of technical talent. Alongside this, our safety-first culture, exemplified by initiatives like the HELP Card system, reinforces our dedication to continuous risk mitigation both onshore and offshore.”
Simon Healy, Regional Managing Director for ABL in Asia Pacific
We extend our sincere thanks to IADC SEAC for this honour, and to our global teams whose dedication continues to drive our purpose forward—sustainability in energy and oceans.
