ABL Group appoints global head of onshore wind
AqualisBraemar LOC Group (ABL Group) has appointed its first global head of onshore wind.
ABL Group has served the offshore renewables sector for the past 20 years. This autumn, the group announced that it would build a team to service onshore renewables markets too, specifically onshore wind, solar PV and battery and energy storage. To head up its onshore drive, industry heavyweight Richard Abrams was appointed as ABL Group’s director of onshore renewables.
Abrams’ unit has now made its first senior hire, appointing Oliver Davies as ABL Group’s global head of onshore wind.
Oliver Davies, who is an experienced renewable energy project development and wind performance specialist, joins ABL Group from RINA. At RINA, Davies was head of performance, delivering pre- and post-construction consulting services across wind and solar projects worldwide. He was pivotal in growing RINA’s wind team and managed a global network of engineers delivering tens of GWs of wind performance and analysis work.
Davies has close to 15 years’ worldwide experience from the renewables sector, with a track record as project developer, international wind and solar technical adviser, and renewable analytics lead with responsibility for leading wind and solar resource assessment and operational services. Davies has supported numerous developments across Europe, Africa, Australia, Asia and the Americas.
“The combination of Ollie’s experience, technical knowledge in onshore wind and solar, and ABL Group’s local expertise globally, gives us enormous potential to support emerging markets, as well as to service existing markets which continue to develop and operate large onshore wind and solar portfolios. His appointment significantly reinforces our position as the renewable energy consultant of choice,”
