What do you do at ABL?
I work as Operations/ Project Manager with a Master Mariner background. I lead a team based in the ABL Vietnam office, that is made up from Master Mariners, Marine Engineers, Naval Architects and Structural Engineers.
I often manage marine warranty survey (MWS) projects in the maritime, oil and gas, and offshore/nearshore renewables industry. Our central focus on the MWS projects is the technical review and the 3rd-party approval of operational method statements and procedural documents.
My team and I also carry out marine assurance inspections for several kinds of vessels/ barges, (OVID/IMCA, Suitability Surveys, DP audits, Vessel/Shipyard JH143 inspection, P&I condition survey, Marine Consultants, Advisors/Tow Master) and MWS for the marine market, like rig moves, float-on/ float-off operations, cargo loading/discharge, engineering supports, marine casualty/damage survey and loss adjusting.
What inspired you to go into the field you are in?
With a master mariner background and specialty in marine survey and safety operations, I had a keen interest in performing surveys/consultant work in the shipping, O&G and offshore wind energy industry.
What do you enjoy about working at ABL?
ABL is made up of industry leading technical experts which supports projects from many offices all over the world. Our company is comprised of a wide range of sectors and services, good track records and a huge name in the market.
What is the most exciting aspect of the energy transition for you?
The Oil and Gas industry will of course still have huge importance for many years to come, but with the rapid technology developments in renewable energy, there will be a giant surge in the energy transition movement and renewables will become more and more prevalent as a global energy supply.
What do you enjoy in your spare time?
I enjoy all of my spare time with my family and friends. I also like to tour and experience amazing food and drinks with friends.
