The team at ABL Group shares the passion, vision and values for working in energy and the world’s oceans, de-risking and driving the energy transition. We are driven by the idea that the best work is born from professionalism, diligence… and fun. You know ABL Group, but do you know our team?
Give us a glimpse into your day-to-day life at ABL. What keeps you on your toes?
“Every day at ABL is a bit of an adventure. I usually start by catching up on emails and project updates, then dive into meetings and brainstorming sessions with my team.
What really keeps me on my toes is the variety of challenges and opportunities we face – there’s always something new to learn or a problem to solve. It’s this dynamic environment that keeps me energised and engaged.”

What drew you to our industry and what keeps you passionate about it?
I’ve always been fascinated by the maritime and energy sectors because they play such a crucial role in our world. The chance to work on projects that make a real difference, like improving sustainability and supporting global trade, is incredibly rewarding. What keeps me passionate is the constant innovation and the push towards greener solutions. It’s exciting to be part of an industry that’s evolving and making a positive impact.

Can you tell us about something exciting you are working on right now?
Right now, I’m involved in the Neptun Deep project, which is a major offshore gas development in the Black Sea. It’s a huge deal because we’re using cutting-edge technology to access significant natural gas reserves. This project is not only important for Romania’s energy security but also has the potential to change the regional energy landscape. Being part of something so ground breaking is really thrilling and keeps me motivated.

What do you think the future of energy and oceans looks like in Romania and the wider Black Sea Region?
I think the future looks pretty bright. There’s a big push towards renewable energy sources like wind and solar, which is great for sustainability. We’re also seeing advancements in marine technology that will help protect our oceans. Collaboration between countries in the region will be key to driving these positive changes. It’s an exciting time to be involved in this field.
Beyond the work, what’s your favourite part about being part of the ABL Group team in Romania? Any fun team moments you’d like to share?
One of the best things about being part of the ABL Group in Romania is the sense of community. We had an amazing office opening party where colleagues from all over the region and our partners came together. It was such a fun event, and it really highlighted the strong bonds we’ve built. Getting to know everyone in a relaxed setting was fantastic and made me appreciate our team even more.

If you could change one thing about your industry, what would it be and why?
If I could change one thing, it would be to speed up the adoption of sustainable practices. We’ve made a lot of progress, but there’s still so much more we can do to minimise our environmental impact. By prioritising sustainability, we can ensure that our industry continues to thrive while also protecting our planet.
