ABL Group introduces its under-30s Shadow Board
ABL Group (ABL) is excited to announce the launch of its inaugural Shadow Board for future leaders, promoting the involvement and development of its young staff within the organisation.
ABL’s Shadow Board is a leadership development programme introduced in 2022, designed to embed future leaders at the top strategic level, allowing for new perspectives and insights from these voices to push ambitions further and faster towards successful careers in management.
The programme offers a group of 12 young, ambitious, non-executive employees, access and invaluable interaction with ABL’s senior management team – as well as developmental and networking opportunities – across an 18-month tenure. The Shadow Board members will receive support and experiential learning about how to engage effectively in a Board environment, and the opportunity to tackle challenges and initiatives they might not otherwise approach in their everyday roles.
In a statement, the Shadow Board explains more about its purpose:
“Over the next 18 months we will be working on strategic initiatives to improve the company, whilst providing fresh input to the Board and senior management. In the Shadow Board, our purpose is to focus on what staff need and want from the ABL Group. We will use these assigned initiatives to develop key actions and solutions for areas of improvement to truly benefit the company and its people. Our priority is to serve and represent all ABL staff resulting in a more united and effective ABL for all of us.”
In return, the Shadow Board will allow ABL to enable and support its young leaders to reach their full potential. The programme will also bring a diversity of voices and thoughts to strategic initiatives, which is fundamental to the sustainability, growth, and improvement of the organisation.
“Our inaugural intake of Shadow Board members was opened to all permanent ABL employees under 30 years old. We believe it is a wonderful opportunity for younger staff from all areas of the company to engage with our senior management and introduce their innovative perspectives and insights, while being fostered and mentored by experienced professionals at the helm of our organisation.”
