John Walker voted in as Chairman of The Association of Average Adjusters of US & Canada
John Walker of AqualisBraemar and former Chief Surveyor of Braemar (inc. The Salvage Association) has been confirmed as the new Chairman of The Association of Average Adjusters of the United States and Canada at their Annual General Meeting in New York on October 3, 2019.
The Association was formed as the Association of Average Adjusters of the United States in 1879. Its purpose is to maintain the honour and dignity of the profession of Average Adjusting, and to promote correct principles in the adjustment of marine hull claims and uniformity of practice among Average Adjusters. The Association’s membership includes practising Average Adjusters, Maritime Lawyers and members of the Judiciary, Vessel Owners, Marine Underwriters and Brokers, and other maritime professionals from around the world.
Following his confirmation to the position of Chairman, Mr Walker spoke of how honoured he was to be elected to serve an association of such history and esteem in the maritime industry. He also noted his intention to build on the good work of the prior Chairman in expanding the outreach of the Association and furthering the educational development of marine claims professionals around the world
