LOC Group expands Qatar operations and appoints new Marine Manager

LOC Group, the premier international marine and engineering consulting firm, is pleased to announce the expansion of operations in Qatar with the recent appointment of Captain Jaimie Jones as Marine Manager to LOC Doha.

LOC opened an office in Qatar in 2004 and decided to re-invigorate operations there because LOC Qatar has signed a new multi-year contract with Qatar Petroleum, alongside a number of other agreements which require Qatari based operations, for the provision of Marine Warranty and Consultancy Services.

The Group is proud to support the expansion and further development of Qatar’s oil and gas industry, in addition to serving the international P&I, H&M clubs and Qatar’s local insurers.

Capt. Jaimie Jones has been recruited to help drive this expansion, and he brings 23 years’ experience across the shipping and oil & gas sectors. His experience includes rig moving, as tow master, offshore project management, sailing in senior positions on a wide variety of vessels including as SDPO on AHTS and seismic vessels. He also has experience as an OVID inspector as well as being a certified offshore crane operator and inspector.

Prior to joining LOC Jaimie gained his experience working in a number of global locations incl. West Africa and Thailand for a number of blue-chip companies in the sector, including Chevron, Seadrill, Noble Denton and Tidewater.
