Dr R V Ahilan appointed as CEO of LOC Group
LOC Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr R V Ahilan to the role of Chief Executive Officer. He previously held the role of Joint CEO of LOC Group, alongside Jerome Rutler, who will take up the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer. Jerome will also oversee Operations and Mergers & Acquisitions at LOC.
In order to drive LOC towards further strengthening its position as the premier marine and engineering consulting firm, greater market focus is to be placed on the shipping, oil & gas and renewables sectors. Accordingly, Dr Ian Cummins will become the head of LOC’s London business, in addition to leading the Oil & Gas business. Andrew Squire will head LOC’s Shipping business and Ahilan will continue to lead the Group’s Renewables business activities. Jake Anderson will lead the development and growth of design and consulting engineering across the Group companies including its recent acquisition, Innosea.
Ahilan is a technology and business leader with over three decades of industry experience, more than 15 years of which has been at board level. Across his extensive international career in maritime, oil and gas and renewable energy consulting, Ahilan served as Executive Vice President of the Renewables Advisory Division at DNV GL, President of GL Garrad Hassan and MD of GL Noble Denton in Americas and Europe before he joined LOC Group in February 2016.
R V Ahilan, CEO of LOC Group, commented:
“I am really excited to take the helm today at an exciting time for LOC Group and the sectors in which we operate, as we look to broaden our services offering and geographical presence, make acquisitions to build on our strong international platform and continue to deliver the best possible service to our clients. With the excellent team that we have assembled, I have no doubt that we can accelerate the growth of the firm while remaining the firm of choice for our clients and colleagues.”
Jerome Rutler, Deputy CEO of LOC Group, commented:
“I look forward to continuing to work closely with Ahilan and the wider LOC team, as we look to build on the strong foundations in place and achieve further growth across our divisions. As a business, we are firmly focused on client delivery and ensuring that our services offering is best in class. We will continue to pursue inorganic growth opportunities as appropriate and will look to enhance our offering by targeting growth sectors where we already have a strong international network. We have had a strong first half of the year and intend to keep building on this momentum over the rest of 2019.”
