AqualisBraemar completes Ichthys Venturer FPSO station keeping job
28 August 2017 – Marine and offshore engineering consultancy AqualisBraemar has successfully completed its position keeping role for the Ichthys Venturer FPSO which is now fully moored in Australian waters.
On 14 August, operator INPEX announced that the Ichthys Venturer FPSO had arrived in Australian waters, 220 kilometres off the north coast of Western Australia.
Aqualis has since then managed the position keeping procedure and provided position keeping masters offshore while the FPSO was secured with a 21-line mooring system.
The Ichthys Venturer FPSO is 336 metres long and will be permanently moored on a turret for the life of the project, about 3.5 kilometres from the field’s central processing facility (CPF), Ichthys Explorer.
AqualisBraemar’s Singapore office provided the position keeping services as a sub-supplier to POSH Terasea Offshore Pte Ltd. POSH Terasea Offshore Pte Ltd managed the successful 5,600-kilometre towage of the Ichthys Venturer and Ichthys Explorer from South Korea, to the Ichthys Field.
