Putting wind into our sails with the International Windship Association (IWSA)
ABL – the energy and marine consultants – have recently become proud Members of the International Windship Association (IWSA).
The IWSA is an organisation that works to encourage and facilitate wind propulsion for commercial shipping worldwide. It provides a platform for all stakeholders involved in the development of windship technology, to discuss and explore industry attitudes and policies.
The IWSA aims to shed light on the environmental and economic value of wind propulsion, as well as creating a space for the industry to share new ideas, skills, and resources. Its members include shipbuilders, government bodies, and the media.
What makes ABL a great fit with IWSA?
Supporting maritime industries in reducing international shipping’s greenhouse gas emissions by at least 50% by 2050, is at the centre of our company mission. With both the expertise and an established track-record in clean shipping engineering, design and analysis, we are looking forward to sharing our knowledge with IWSA and to collaborate in driving sustainable development in the industry.
“As an IWSA member, we are poised to embrace cutting-edge wind propulsion technologies, which, combined with our existing offering in energy transition, will enhance our contribution to the decarbonisation of the maritime sector.”
Stefano Scarpa, Associate Director, Maritime Decarbonisation
