FAQs: International Engineer Development Programme
We’re excited to be accepting applications to our September 2023 graduate programme intake. Applications close on 31 January.
We’ve put together some of our most frequently asked questions, to help you with your application.
Q: How do I apply?
Apply online. Visit our careers page, attach your CV and your cover letter showcasing why you think the programme is for you, and why you’re the engineer for us!
Q: I don’t have a Master’s degree. Can I still apply?
For our international programme, we only accept applications from graduates with a Master’s degree, accredited by RINA, IMarEST and/or a similar professional institution.
If you do not have a Master’s degree, you are eligible for our Direct Entry programme only.
Q: I am an international student with a degree that is accredited by a different institution in my country. Can I still apply?
A: Yes, we are more flexible with international students on accreditations, please feel free to apply if you meet all the other requirements.
Q: I have a PhD, can I apply?
Absolutely, we welcome your application!
Q: Do you have summer internships or placement programmes for current university students?
OWC periodically offers internship opportunities, please keep an eye on our careers page for more information, or submit your CV in case new opportunities open up.
Q: How many graduates are you looking to recruit for the September 2023 intake?
We aim to recruit 10-12 people for the international programme this year, however we are looking to recruit a greater number of recent graduates as direct entries.
Q: What is the difference between the International programme and the Direct Entry programme?
The international programme runs for four years, typically broken into four one-year placements across ABL Group, including international placements at selected offices worldwide.
Direct Entry participants will be placed at a single office and will spend the entire four years in this location.
Q: I want to apply for direct entry but can’t find a link on the site. How do I apply?
You can use the main application link for the International Engineer Development Programme and write in the comments that you are interested in the direct entry route. If you have a preferred Group company or department, please also include these details.
Q: I’ve submitted an application. What’s the next step?
Our team will review all applications and if you meet our requirements you will be invited to an interview panel and assessment day. Visit our Hiring Process page for further details on the selection stages.
