Helene Robic, Marine Renewable Energy Engineer | Innosea
What do you do at Innosea?
Over the past 8 years spent at INNOSEA, I have been specialising in Integrated Load Analysis for Offshore Wind Turbines.
I joined the company only one year after the discovery of this technical service. So I had the chance to be part of building and delivering this new service line at INNOSEA. I began working on fixed offshore turbines on small projects. Since then, we have built up a full team of load assessment engineers that I am proud to lead.
In recent years, we have been developing our capabilities in load analysis for floating offshore wind turbines, enabling us to transfer our specialised knowledge to supporting the growing floating wind market.
I am now acting as Wind Turbine Loads Technical Lead and Project Manager. My area of expertise includes wind turbine and foundation modelling on aero-elastic software for load assessment and management of interfaces between Foundation Designer & Wind Turbine Supplier.
What excites you the most about our industry?
Working for a company specialized in marine renewable energies, I feel like I am doing my part to contribute to the transition to a greener future. This is what motivates me every day!
What made you join Innosea?
I joined INNOSEA in 2013 for a 6-month internship. I worked on the development of a tool for the conceptual design of offshore wind turbine foundations. At that time, offshore wind projects were at their first phase of development in France and I wanted to be part of this new exciting industry. So, I was very happy when they offered me a full time job at the end of my internship.
What do you do when you are not working?
In my free time I like to spend time with my family and friends over a good meal. I also enjoy spending time outside, gardening and taking care of my vegetable garden. It is an activity that allows me to relax.
I also like travelling and discovering new places, new cultures. Unfortunately over the past couple of years, I did not travel as much as I would like because of Covid 19 restrictions. I hope to be able to start planning my new trips soon!
