Pradeep Padman, Lead Naval Architect | Dubai, ME Region

What do you do at AqualisBraemar?
As a Lead Naval Architect based in Dubai office, I look after the Engineering and Marine Warranty Services in the Middle East region. I am entrusted with developing the Engineering team and managing various marine and offshore projects of different level of complexities.
My routine activities include performing and monitoring engineering consultancy projects associated with ships and jack-up drilling rigs, guiding the team, attending vessels onshore and offshore for various inspections and marine operations in addition to helping other departments and offices in the organisation with engineering support.
What excites you the most about our industry?
The Marine and Offshore Oil & Gas industry we are in is ever-changing and poses new challenges every day, so as our profession.
There are ups and downs in this industry which sharpens our skills to be more competitive and productive. The challenging times ensure that we are always on our toes and keep ourselves updated and occupied.
The Middle East region I am based in provides opportunities to interact with professionals in the industry from various parts of the world.
Also, the opportunity to get involved in a wide variety of marine operations is an exciting factor.
What made you join AqualisBraemar?
The main reason I joined AqualisBraemar was the leadership of the company which gives prime importance to acquire and retain a highly qualified and skilful workforce in addition to nurturing the employees to ensure the organisation performs at the highest level in the industry.
I have a lot of colleagues here from my previous company whom I knew personally which made my decision easier.
What do you do when you are not working?
Whenever I am off from official duties, I try to spend time with my family and take them on leisure trips. I like off-road drives in the UAE deserts in my four-wheeler with my group members. I am also part of a motorbike club and enjoy rides in my Harley-Davidson with my mates during weekends.
