Meet Pakprapa Piromkan, Project Coordinator, ABL Thailand
The team at ABL Group shares the passion, vision and values for working in energy and the world’s oceans, de-risking and driving the energy transition. We are driven by the idea that the best work is born from professionalism, diligence… and fun. You know ABL Group, but do you know our team?
Give us a glimpse into your day-to-day life at ABL in Thailand. What keeps you on your toes?
My daily life at ABL Thailand is quite exciting because my work is not routine work. My job involves supporting both the team and my colleagues. As Project Coordinator & SOP Compliance Lead, my role ensures on-time, compliant delivery of ABL Thailand projects by coordinating mobilisation, documentation and commercial hygiene.
The role acts as the focal point for document control, technical staff, freelancer coordination and provides governance support to keep operations aligned with ABL SOPs, PMPs, manuals and corporate policies. Sometimes there are urgent tasks and sometimes we have to solve problems together. I have a great boss and great colleagues, which is what keeps me energised.

What drew you to the industry and what keeps you passionate about it?
The first thing that attracted me to working with ABL was that I wanted an office near my family, and my ex-boss called and invited me to work with him in an offshore industry. I was curious about what offshore work was.
Once I started working in this industry, I was amazed by its interest and novelty, because my career began as a Document Controller & Admin of Building, Hotel construction and Fabrication Works.
After working for a while, I learned about the documentation, procedures and guidelines in this industry. I enjoy reading and researching information on the company’s website and the online training provided. I feel a sense of support and career advancement within the company.
Can you tell us about something exciting you are working on right now?
I’ve taken on more of a coordination role, which involves communication with clients, involvement in business development and adapting AI into my work to enhance efficiencies for project delivery, which is very exciting.
The ABL Thailand office works with Kasetsart University Sriracha, and I was involved as a coordinator. I saw students interested in offshore work and our knowledgeable, experienced staff who are now teaching. I felt very proud of the Thailand team.
What does the future of energy and oceans look like right now?
Our planet is warming, and at the same time, the oceans are in a state of extreme heat crisis. The oceans trap heat, causing sea levels to rise, damaging ecosystems and leading to more intense storms. Therefore, we must protect the oceans, reduce carbon emissions, and develop renewable energy.
It is great to work for a company that is committed to driving renewable energy, carbon-reduction and sustainable technologies across our energy and oceans.

Beyond the work, what makes you tick outside of the office?
In ABL Thailand, we work like a family. We often organise activities such as going for a run after work, grabbing coffee, or going out for delicious food. It’s a great way to build friendships.
