About ABL Poland

ABL formally expanded into Poland in 2025, building on its established reputation as a marine warranty surveyor (MWS) and marine consultant in the Baltic Sea, supported via neighbouring operations in Hamburg, Germany.

The Gdańsk team is led by Michal Zientarski, a marine engineering and offshore operations specialist with over 20 years of global industry experience.

His background spans offshore project management, cost‑optimised operations, and industry‑standard compliance across Europe, South America, the Middle East, and beyond. A qualified Chief Engineer, Zientarski also brings extensive expertise in offshore wind project development.

Michal Zientarski

“It is a pleasure to lead ABL’s flagship operations in Poland at such a pivotal time, as Polish offshore wind transitions from planning to active construction. Alongside this, local gas infrastructure is expanding. Bolstered by both markets, the marine supply chain and ports are experiencing a period of regeneration. With ABL’s global track record, we are well-placed to support each of these growth areas – now through a local expert team that we continue to grow.”

Supporting Poland’s Energy Future

The Gdańsk office will serve as a hub for delivering a wide range of services, including:

  • Ports and harbours consulting
  • Marine assurance and risk
  • Marine warranty surveying
  • Asset integrity management

ABL is already supporting Polish offshore wind projects Baltica 2 and BC‑Wind, as well as other initiatives within oil and gas.

“Our team is a good example of Poland’s ambition to deliver national energy goals through a strong local supply chain supported by local expertise and new job creation.”

Continues Zientarski

ABL is also joined in the Polish market by its sister company OWC, which specialises in owner’s engineering and project development services for grid‑scale offshore and onshore renewable technologies.
