Meet Prince Fernando, Marine Engineer – Energy, ABL London

What does your day-to-day look like at ABL?

“At ABL, every day is an adventure! My mornings start with a team huddle where we discuss ongoing projects and brainstorm innovative solutions.

From there, I dive into a mix of various jobs such as Dynamic Positioning vessel marine system analysis,  on shore and offshore attendances on renewable/ oil and gas projects,  vessel and marine warranty surveys with client meetings on sites”.

Each day offers new challenges and opportunities to collaborate with brilliant minds, ensuring our projects are always pushing the boundaries of energy and marine consulting. “

What inspired you to join your industry?

My passion for the marine and offshore engineering and a desire to make a positive impact on our planet drew me to the energy and marine consulting industry. The opportunity to work on interesting projects that contribute to sustainable energy and marine engineering solutions was a perfect mix of my interests and aspirations. Joining ABL has allowed me to turn that passion into a fulfilling career.

Can you tell us about something exciting you are working on right now?

Absolutely! We’re currently working on an innovative offshore charging project that aims to revolutionize renewable energy production. This project not only promises to deliver clean energy to thousands of offshore vessels but also incorporates cutting-edge technology to minimize environmental impact. It’s exciting to be part of a team that’s at the forefront of such transformative work.

What does the future look like in energy and oceans in Europe?

The future in Europe’s energy and marine sectors is incredibly bright and dynamic. We’re seeing a significant shift towards renewable energy sources, with offshore wind farms and tidal energy projects leading the charge. The focus on sustainability and technological innovation will continue to drive advancements, ensuring that Europe remains a global leader in clean energy and marine conservation

What do you enjoy most about working as part of the ABL Group team in Europe?

What I enjoy most about being part of the ABL Group team in London is the sense of camaraderie and shared purpose. We’re not just colleagues; we’re a family working towards a common goal. The diverse expertise within our team means there’s always something new to learn, and the social events and team-building activities keep our spirits high. Whether we’re brainstorming over coffee or celebrating a project milestone, the sense of community and fun is always present.
