About
With over 10 years of experience in high-profile MWS projects across the oil & gas and offshore renewables sectors, Carmela Friedman is a skilled principal naval architect at ABL. Since joining LOC (now ABL) in 2014, Carmela predominantly focuses on cable installation projects, working on cable loadouts, transportation, burial, offshore jointing, and shore pull operations. She has also managed a wide range of marine operations, including vessel stability analysis, mooring design, and offshore activities like loadouts and subsea cable jointing. Carmela has played a key role in projects for offshore wind farms (OWF) and FPSO refitting, and is the contract manager for one of ABL’s long-term framework agreements. She holds a Master of Engineering in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from University College London and has a background in renewable energy, having previously worked on wave energy converter designs at UCL.
