About

Hege Marie has worked for 30 years in the Energy industry and adjacent sectors. She is a trained economist from Norway and St.Gallen in Switzerland, and started her career as an advisor to the Prime Minister’s Office in Norway on, amongst other topics, industry, environment and education. In 2000, she became the State Secretary for the Prime Minister and a year later the Junior Minister in the Ministry of Finance. 
She joined Norsk Hydro Energy in 2002, where she led the communication and public affairs team, and from 2005 she was responsible for the Non-operated fields in Norsk Hydro. 

After the merger with Statoil, Hege Marie Norheim was asked to lead an organisation of 250 people responsible for all early phase field developments on NCS, as well as non-operated fields, increased field recovery projects and commercial negotiations. 

In 2010, Hege was made Chief Sustainability Officer at Statoil. She left in 2015 to start the country office of Spencer Stuart leadership firm in Norway. In 2021, she joined NYSE-listed Freyr Battery as part of the executive team until 2024. The last year she has worked as a Director in Sopra Steria IT consultancy.
