About
Ashanti is a Licensed Marine Engineer with a BSc in Marine Operations.
Her experience consists of sea time within an engineering capacity, shoreside experience as a public speaker at USMMA, a member of the Loss Prevention and Surveying department at American Club P&I, and a Marine Engineering Surveyor Associate (current).
She has operational engineering experience with steam turbines, electrical generating plants, refrigeration plants, bunkering, and oil purification. Additionally, Ashanti has assisted in condition surveys, hull & machinery surveys, damage surveys, warranty & risk assessment surveys both locally and internationally. She has also assisted with report writing, technical due diligence projects, and ultrasonic hatch cover testing.
Ashanti is an active member of WISTA, as well as Young Shipping Professionals of New York (YSPNY.) She provided mentorship as a Female Alumni Ambassador at SUNY Maritime College to females within the maritime industry and engaged in public speaking events to promote the importance of the marine industry to interested youth.
