We are looking forward to hiring Senior Project Manager who will work on engineering and consultancy assignments across all disciplines for offshore wind farm projects primarily in Germany and globally. This role will manage various projects and support in positioning OWC as the global renewables advisor of choice. Further, this role will share collective responsibility for meeting our ambitious business growth objective, to double our renewables activity by 2025.
What you will be doing?
The successful candidate will lead teams of multi-disciplined engineers, analysts, and specialists, working with our global capability. This role will be responsible for supporting business development and marketing campaigns. As well as presenting OWC’s capabilities, experience, and enthusiasm in the offshore wind industry. In addition, the successful candidate will also be responsible for :
- Leading offshore wind – site assessment, investigation, and bid advisory projects in Germany as well as globally.
- Drive multiple complex projects, monitoring their progress and accomplishing the overall delivery of projects with high standards to ensure the utmost satisfaction of our clients within the given timeframe, cost and pre-established quality standards.
- Preparation of technical proposals and reports.
- Managing project teams, maintaining profitability, invoicing, and looking after project’s financial management.
- Supporting the positive development of team members through coaching, mentoring, and training etc.
- Develop targeted new capabilities to support OWC business if required.
- Collaborate, support and evolve with work teams within OWC. Network at all levels within the company, as well as with external bodies and act as a representative of OWC at industry conferences, seminars, and events etc.
- Ensure that projects operate in accordance with OWC’s high health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to guarantee the safety and wellbeing of staff, subcontractors or any other stakeholders involved in the project.
This role is office based, with flexible working hours and opportunity to travel and work within a variety of time zones. Occasional onsite/offshore attendance could be expected.
What we are looking for:
A driven and solution oriented professional with a supportive and global mindset as well as excellent consulting and people management skills. The successful candidate will have better interpersonal skills, an entrepreneurial spirit and flair for dealing with clients as well as developing business. In addition, you will have:
- A minimum of 5+ years relevant and demonstrable experience in either naval architecture, civil, structural, mechanical or electrical engineering in relevant major projects is essential. Experience in offshore wind projects as project manager / package manager in Germany is an advantage.
- Qualified to at least Bachelors in engineering or relevant discipline. Master’s degree / PhD /project management certification is a plus
- Have a successful track record in project management at least of smaller scopes (ideally in a consultancy environment)
- Excellent technical engineering knowledge with a good understanding of offshore wind projects in various stages and their interfaces is essential. Experience in scoping, supervision and interpretation of offshore site investigations and bid advisory services is a plus.
- Good knowledge and experience of regulatory system for offshore wind in Germany is required.
- Familiar with commercial and contractual issues and able to provide guidance to OWC clients.
- Good sales and business development skills and competent in marketing the capabilities of OWC.
- Ability to co-ordinate, direct and lead projects and work under own initiative with minimum supervision.
- Good English and German communication skills and excellent report writing skills are essential. However, proficiency in French, Spanish or any other European language is an advantage.
