Offshore Structural Assessment Engineer

We are looking to hire an Offshore Structural Assessment Engineer F/M to join our team of specialists in a dynamic and growing company and leader in marine renewables.

The role

As Offshore Structural Assessment Engineer, you will be involved in project coordination and customer relations, you will participate in internal and external, R&D projects and you will conduct technical studies of offshore wind structures as part of industrial projects:

  • Structural calculations: Model preparation, Calculations, Post-data processing, Analysis, Reporting
  • Calculation method: Finite elements (FEA)
  • Design of structures: In extreme/fatigue, In the phase of Pre-FEED, Basic & Detail Engineering (typically jacket/monopile offshore wind turbine foundation)

The role is based in Nantes, France and the incumbent must have the right to work and reside in France. In this hybrid role, you will have a defined work location that includes remote work from home, in the office and offshore/on-site as agreed with your manager. Flexibility to working hours and willing travel locally and internationally may be required occasionally.

Qualifications and experience required

We are looking for a determined, results and client-oriented professional with a supportive and global mindset and excellent interpersonal skills. The successful candidate is passionate about innovation and progress and enjoys working in a dynamic and multicultural environment, both independently and as part of a team. In addition, you:

  • Hold a master’s degree in structural mechanics and/or solid mechanics.
  • Have at least 2 years’ offshore (wind & gas) experience working with design of offshore structures. Design experience in offshore wind, jacket type or monopile is an advantage.
  • Are well versed within the mechanical characteristics of materials (RDM) metal/concrete-composite.
  • Have in-depth understanding of at least of one the following: ABAQUS, ANSYS, SACS, SESAM.
  • Are fully proficient in English, and French is an advantage but not a requisite.
  • Knowledge of DNV-GL, IEC, API, AISC, Eurocode standards is an advantage but not a requisite, as is experience with code checking, yielding, buckling, fatigue, in ULS, FLS, ALS conditions.
