{"id":9670,"date":"2020-08-11T17:26:47","date_gmt":"2020-08-11T17:26:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/?p=9670"},"modified":"2022-06-07T11:23:35","modified_gmt":"2022-06-07T10:23:35","slug":"innosea-to-join-leading-jip-consortium-on-floating-solar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/all-media\/news\/innosea-to-join-leading-jip-consortium-on-floating-solar\/","title":{"rendered":"INNOSEA to join leading JIP consortium on Floating Solar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.innosea.co.uk\/\">INNOSEA<\/a>, a leading engineering firm specialized in Offshore Renewables and part of <a href=\"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/\">LOC Group<\/a>, is pleased to announce it has been invited to join the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dnvgl.com\/news\/dnv-gl-launches-industry-wide-collaboration-to-develop-first-ever-recommended-practice-for-floating-solar-power-plants-177287\">Floating Solar JIP consortium<\/a>, a group of 23 leading companies in the renewable energy arena.<\/p>\n<p>Led by DNVGL, the consortium is aiming to develop the first recommended practice for the development of <a href=\"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/renewable-service\/floating-pvs\/\">floating solar<\/a> power projects; creating the first commonly recognized standard. The standard will be based on a defined list of technical requirements for developing safe, reliable and sustainable projects.<\/p>\n<p>Joining the consortium is on an invitation only basis, requiring the approval of all existing members. Areas that <a href=\"http:\/\/innosea.co.uk\/services\/\">INNOSEA<\/a> will focus specifically include site characterization, energy yield, floaters, mooring and anchoring design.<\/p>\n<p>The invitation to join the Floating Solar JIP consortium, comes on the back of extensive work in the area, covering 30 projects and 690MWp. Projects included engineering and design work for 15 floating offshore developments, across 6 countries, Strategic Advisory Services for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.longitude-engineering.com\/services\/site-investigations\/\">site investigation<\/a>, mooring EPCI and <a href=\"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/renewable-service\/project-management\/\">owner\u2019s engineering services<\/a>. INNOSEA is supported by the wider <a href=\"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/renewable-services\/\">LOC Group renewables team<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Other established members to the consortium include: BayWa, Blue C Engineering, Carpi Tech\/Makor Energy, Ciel &amp; Terre International, Compagnie Nationale du Rhone, Noria Energy, EDF \u2013 \u00c9lectricit\u00e9 de France, EDP \u2013 Energias de Portugal, Equinor, Isigenere, Mainstream Renewable Power, Scatec Solar, Seaflex and Statkraft. Other new members include: Total SA, Acciona and SolarMarine Energy.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/our-people\/felix-gorinthin\/\">F\u00e9lix Gorintin<\/a>, Head of Floating Solar at INNOSEA, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cBeing invited to join such a leading consortium is a testament to the work INNOSEA has been doing in the sector.
