Ports and harbours<\/strong><\/a> specialist <\/strong>Harry Palmer<\/strong><\/a> has been appointed as the new Head of Civil Engineering for ABL in the UK<\/a>. In his new role, Harry will consolidate and drive regional growth of ABL\u2019s technical offering in civil engineering and consultancy, to support ports, harbours, terminals and shipyards across their full operational lifecycle.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

ABL\u2019s expert civil engineering team combines a wide range of experience in port engineering consultancy from around the world. It provides a comprehensive package of services covering marine surveying, engineering and design, and consultancy to support port development and operations from development and construction, to operations, to loss-management post casualty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consultancy services cover, but are not limited to: terminal development, port infrastructure due diligence, feasibility studies, cost engineering, project management, client representation, structural asset appraisal and condition surveys,  fixed and floating object damage (FFO), and expert witness and litigation support in FFO incidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABL\u2019s ports and harbours team are also leading consultants in the provision of a wide range of energy transition and decarbonisation solutions<\/a>, for which maritime civil engineering provides critical support. ABL\u2019s offering includes environmental planning and renewable energy integration, climate change risk assessment and adaptation for ports and harbour infrastructure, and ports and harbour infrastructure feasibility for renewable energy projects, predominantly offshore wind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
