{"id":31638,"date":"2022-08-10T11:15:27","date_gmt":"2022-08-10T10:15:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/?p=31638"},"modified":"2022-08-10T11:15:28","modified_gmt":"2022-08-10T10:15:28","slug":"abl-group-awarded-marine-warranty-work-for-dutch-biofuel-plant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/all-media\/news\/abl-group-awarded-marine-warranty-work-for-dutch-biofuel-plant\/","title":{"rendered":"ABL Group awarded marine warranty work for Dutch biofuel plant"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/\"><strong>&nbsp;ABL Group<\/strong><\/a><strong> has been awarded a contract to provide marine warranty survey services (MWS) for the marine transportation of components for a hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO) plant, which will be part of one of Europe\u2019s biggest biofuels facilities, in Rotterdam, Netherlands.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project, operated and led by Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rotterdam, envisages the construction of a biofuels plant with capacity to produce enough HVO \u2013 known as a renewable diesel \u2013 to avoid 2.8 million tonnes of CO2 emissions a year, the equivalent of taking more than 1 million European cars off the roads.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" src=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/DSC7247-002.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-31814\" srcset=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/DSC7247-002.jpg 500w, https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/DSC7247-002-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/DSC7247-002-390x260.jpg 390w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><figcaption>\u00a9 Shell_Pernis<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Energy and marine consultancy ABL\u2019s scope of work is to provide MWS for all marine transportation operations from Nantong, China to Rotterdam, Netherlands relating to critical project components for the HVO plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The biofuels plant is part of Shell\u2019s larger <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shell.com\/media\/news-and-media-releases\/2021\/shell-to-build-one-of-europes-biggest-biofuels-facilities.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Red II Green project<\/a>, which also envisages the construction of one of the world\u2019s largest and Europe\u2019s largest commercial green hydrogen production facilities, which will in turn be used to decarbonise the refinery process at the HVO plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;We are delighted to provide MWS on one part of the cutting-edge Red II Green project, which falls entirely in line with our commitment and mission to support and drive energy transition initiatives across energy and oceans.&#8221;<\/p><cite>Jonathan Cook, ABL&#8217;s Project Director <\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>ABL\u2019s operations in London, UK, is the contract party. The London office will be supported by ABL\u2019s offices in China and the Netherlands, to carry out on-site attendances locally as part of the marine warranty survey scope of work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ABL, which is part of Oslo-listed ABL Group ASA, has not disclosed the value of the contract.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;Our commitment is to accelerate net-zero solutions across all marine markets: renewables, maritime and oil and gas.
